Head Athletic Trainer
Nicola Janzen is the Head Athletic Trainer for the Valley Huskers and is currently in her fourth year working with the team, including her third year in the head trainer role. She brings over 10 years of experience in athletic training, working with local high school football and rugby teams, as well as local minor baseball athletes and, more recently, high school lacrosse players.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Education and has completed a wide range of first aid and athletic training–related certifications. In addition to her work with the team, she is a high school Physical and Health Education teacher, where she is passionate about athlete development, injury prevention, and building strong movement foundations that support long-term performance and health. Some of her favourite classes to teach are all about sports injuries and how to prevent them, as well as teaching taping to aspiring students!
Outside of football and teaching, Nicola has a background as an athlete, having played competitive softball, soccer, and volleyball most of her life. When she is not working, you can find her in the gym, riding her bike, or trying to learn a new sport!

Batul Adamjee is an athletic trainer with the Valley Huskers, currently in her second season with the team. She brings four years of hands-on experience in athletic training, working with a variety of athletes across multiple sports, with a particular focus on rugby.
Batul is a Kinesiology student at the University of the Fraser Valley, where she is actively involved with the student trainer team, gaining practical experience in injury prevention, assessment, and care. She has spent three years as a trainer with GW Graham rugby, supporting athletes through both practices and competition, and has also worked as a medic at local tournaments, providing on-site care in fast-paced environments.

In addition to her training work, Batul has experience coaching basketball, combining her passion for sport with athlete development. She also works as a rehabilitation assistant in the Fraser Valley, helping clients recover from injuries and build strength for long-term health.
With a strong athletic background herself, Batul has participated in a wide range of sports, with a deeper focus on basketball and rugby. She is passionate about supporting athletes, staying active, and continuing to grow in the field of athletic therapy.
Outside of her work, Batul enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the lake or hiking. And she is known for always having snacks on hand to keep herself and those around her fueled and ready to go.
